Whereas, in days of olde when harvest days would find our forefathers in the Sweet Labour of bringing in the pickles from the field, the community would come together in pause of their endeavour to celebrate the Bounty by challenging each other with contraptions and ingenuities to flinge a pickle at a basket some pointe distant.
So now we will join with our forebearers in like frivolity by commencing the FifthAnnual Farmer’s Faire “Ye Olde Pickle Flinge” on Saturday, October 21, 2006, 12:30 p.m. will be the appointed contest time and the flinging will commence on or about that hour on the flinging field adjacente to the Dillsburg Elementary School. The rules for aforesaid contest shall be as follows:

Contestants shall supply own pickles (not cucumbers) of any size or style (Dill preferred). Only whole, unadulterated, and unmodified pickles will be acceptable.
